Bagunas only plays in first set as Oita Miyoshi suffer third straight loss in V.League

Oita Miyoshi suffered its third-straight defeat at the hands of Hiroshima, 16-25, 17-25, 15-25, in the Japan V.League Division 1 men’s tournament at the Showa Denko Dome on Sunday.

Bryan Bagunas only played in the first set before coach Murray Pole Ndlovu subbed him out.

The Filipino standout still managed to get five points – four short from his total yesterday. He had three from attacks and two from block kills.

Weisse Adler also shot themselves on the foot with a set’s worth of errors – 24 – to slip to 2-10.

Nobody scored double digits from the Oita side with Kenta Koga’s eight being the highest.

Shota Fujiwara chalked up six points, while other import Emerson Rodriguez and Kota Yamada had five apiece.

Thomas Edgar led JT Thunders with 16 points en route to the weekend games sweep and a 5-7 win-loss card.

Shohei Yamamoto also added 12 points to his name, nine from attacks and three from blocks.

Oita Miyoshi will have another tall task on Saturday as it will face  defending champion Suntory at 12:00 NN at the Kumamoto Prefectural Gymnasium.
