Another Phenom will be on hand for the NLEX Road Warriors during the opening ceremony of the 44th season of the PBA.
With Kiefer Ravena still suspended, Alyssa Valdez will be the Phenom to walk with the Road Warriors on Sunday, January 13, at the Philippine Arena in Bulacan.
“We are proud to announce that multi-awarded athlete and national volleyball team member Alyssa Valdez will serve as our muse for the 2019 PBA Season opening this January 13,” the Road Warriors’ statement read.
“We chose Valdez because she embodies the values of excellence, grit, and resilience – which reflect coach Yeng Guiao and the Road Warriors’ own philosophy. At the same time, it was important to us to choose someone who wouldn’t just represent our team in name only, but who is a true-blue supporter of the Road Warriors.”
Valdez is one of the most decorated volleyball players in the country, having won a record five V-League MVP awards.
Moreover, she is a staunch supporter of NLEX.
“Alyssa has supported not only her boyfriend Kiefer Ravena but the entire Road Warriors team since he joined the roster in 2017. She attends our games, and continues to support the squad even as Kiefer is currently unable to play.”
This is the second time the Batangas native has been a muse in the PBA. She served as TNT’s muse back in 2015.
