Alex Cabagnot replaces Josh Torralba as Goyang Sono import

Alex Cabagnot is heading to Korea.

Goyang Sono announced on Monday that it has signed the nine-time PBA champion coach for the rest of the 2023-24 Korean Basketball League season.

He replaced Joshua Torralba, who suffered a thigh injury and will have to rehabilitate the injury.

Cabagnot, 41, last played for Terrafirma back in the 2023 PBA Governors’ Cup.

In his last conference in the PBA, he averaged 8.8 points, 6.4 assists, and 4.7 rebounds in nine games played.

The Dyip did not renew his contract.

Torralba, on the other hand, played in 11 games for the Skygunners.

Goyang Sono is currently eighth in the 10-team league with a record of 8-13.

Cabagnot is already in Goyang training with the team.

He joins SJ Belangel (Daegu KOGAS), Rhenz Abando (Anyang JungKwangJang), Dave Ildefonso (Suwon KT), Juan Gomez de Liano (Seoul SK), Justin Gutang (Changwon LG), Ethan Alvano (Wonju DB), Avan Nava (Seoul Samsung), and Miguel Oczon (Ulsan Hyundai Mobis) as the Asian imports in the KBL.
