Agatha Wong currently sits in eighth place out of nine participants with one event remaining in the women’s taolu competition at the 2025 World Games, held at the Hi-Tech Zone Sports Centre in Chengdu, China, on Friday.
The five-time Southeast Asian Games champion scored 9.160 points in the taijiquan (bare hands) event earlier in the day.
She will now aim to deliver a strong performance in the taijijian (sword) routine during the evening session, scheduled for 7:50 PM, in hopes of improving her overall ranking.
Final standings will be determined based on the combined scores from the two wushu disciplines.
China’s Zhuoling Lu dominated the taijiquan event with 9.796 points, followed closely by Singapore’s Zeanne Law (9.740) and Brunei’s Basma Lachkar (9.720).
Joining Wong in action later in the evening is fellow Filipino wushu standout Jones Llabres Inso, who will also look to make his mark in his respective event.
