After throwing down best dunk so far, Hill now waiting on Manganti to follow suit

Though finishing with just three points in the Adamson University’s 88-81 win over the University of Santo Tomas, Tyrus Hill provided one of the biggest highlights of the year.

Ten seconds into the third quarter of the game, the 6-foot-4 forward blew past Reggie Boy Basibas from the left corner. And once he was able to get some space, he soared threw the air, throwing down a one-handed jam over a prone Jeepy Faundo.

“So the first play was, when I got fouled, he was pushing me left because my strong side was my right side so I had to take advantage of it,” the 21-year-old recalled. “During the second time he did that, I looked over and it was an open lane. I jab stepped to the left, and crossed over to the right. I knew that anyone that would come over would be late because I’m quicker.

“When I jumped, it was over. Out of body!”

And the dunk played over and over again both on the SMART-Araneta Coliseum’s screen and on social media, drawing cheers and trending for hours respectively.

“That’s one of the best dunks I have done in my career so far. I was just super hyped up after that,” he admitted.

Moreover, Hill was grateful that his teammates appreciated what he had done.

“I didn’t see that until my teammates showed it to me on Facebook and on Twitter,” said Hill as the Adamson bench went wild after he threw down that dunk. “The bench just went crazy after.

“I love those guys. That just boosted up my confidence.”

Hill hopes that second-year Soaring Falcon Sean Manganti puts up a highlight of his own, as they call themselves the Bounce Brothers.UAAP-79-AdU-vs.-UST-Manganti-9458 After throwing down best dunk so far, Hill now waiting on Manganti to follow suit AdU Basketball News UAAP - philippine sports news

“Of course! You’ll see more of that from me and my bounce bro Sean. He needs to hurry up and catch up!” he quipped.

“I’m here to put on a show and hopefully we’re going to sail that ship this year.”
