Scottie Thompson achieved another PBA career milestone on Sunday night, with the help of his newest weapon of choice, made by World Balance.
The 2022 MVP became the newest member of the league’s 5,000 points club in Barangay Ginebra’s 116-102 victory over TNT en route to a 2-1 lead in the Season 50 Commissioner’s Cup Finals at the Mall of Asia Arena in Pasay.
Witnessed by 18,607 fans, he accomplished as much after scoring his first points of Game 3: a layup off a drive at the 6:01 mark of the first quarter.
According to PBA chief statistician Fidel Mangonon III, Thompson is now the 103rd member of the exclusive group–the 98th local, 14th active player, and the 13th to achieve as much with the league’s most popular franchise.
To make it all the more special, the Davaoeno star finished the game with 17 points, 11 rebounds, and 11 assists as he helped out in the strong windup toward moving two wins away from bagging home the ultimate prize.

Thompson became the first local player to record a 12th triple-double since cage luminary Ramon Fernandez in the 1980s, per Mangonon III.
