Lady Falcons romp hapless Lady Warriors for first win of the season

After dropping their first two games against last year’s finalists, the Lady Falcons grooved past the struggling UE Lady Warriors, 25-9, 25-15, 25-17 at the San Juan Arena.

Grabbing control early and not letting go for the entire match, the Adamson offense hummed to a 31-20 spike advantage, 8-3 block points lead, and 8-3 service ace clip. AdU also had a relatively clean game, only giving up 15 errors to UE’s 28.

Leading the way for the Lady Falcons was the newly installed opposite hitter, Mylene Paat. The sophomore from Baguio notched 13 points off 8 spikes, 4 blocks and an ace. Fellow sophomore Jessica Galanza paced the Falcon offense with 11 points of her own while team captain, Faye Guevarra pitched in 8 markers.

The Lady Warriors were paced by a valiant effort from team captain, Shaya Adorador who amassed 7 points while rookie middle blocker Roselle Baliton contributed 4 points.

The Lady Falcons still have a tough road ahead as they will face the team they ousted out of Final Four contention last season, the FEU Lady Tamaraws. Adamson will try to replicate their superb performance in their do-or-die face-off with FEU which took five sets to decide. The two will clash next Sunday, Dec. 7 at the San Juan Arena.

The scores:

AdU – Paat 13, Galanza 11, Guevara 8, Villanueva 5, Alkuino 5, Emnas 3, Dacoron 2, Cortel (L) 0

UE – Adorador 7, Baliton 4, Nebrea 4, Alcayde 3, Manansala 3, Bendong 1, Dawis 1, Ponon 1, Arado (L) 0, Nebrea (L) 0
