Teng opts for ‘minor’ surgery, out for Ateneo-La Salle tilt

Jeron Teng has opted for surgery on a nagging injury that has caused the King Archer discomfort since the Filoil Flying V Pre-season Premier Cup.

According to an official from the De La Salle University who does not want to be named, the 22 year old forward has opted for a minor surgery to treat the bone spurs on his heel that has accumulated from the stress of his style of play.

“Jeron decided to address it now,” the source added.

“It’s better now than wait for it to get worse.”

This will cause Teng to miss the rivalry game between the Ateneo Blue Eagles and the De La Salle Green Archers, the last first round game of both squads. This will be the only game the league’s fourth leading scorer at 16.3 points per game will miss as normal recovery time for the treatment is just five to seven days.

The Green Archers are also set to miss the services of head coach Aldin Ayo in the game due to a one-game suspension he incurred stemming from an incident he had with a game official last Wednesday.
