Ammons vows TNT ‘worst game’ won’t happen again

TNT Katropa import Mychal Ammons couldn’t hide his disappointment following a stinging 106-91 loss to Meralco in Game Two of the PBA Governors’ Cup semifinals on Thursday.

“Everything went wrong,” said Ammons, who scored 15 points and hauled seven rebounds.

Everything simply clicked for the Bolts in the game, who raced off to a scintillating 29-15 start before holding off the KaTropa late on, thanks to Jimmy Alapag’s perfect sniping from threes, as he poured in 14 of his 16 points in the fourth frame.

TNT simply had no answer for the onslaught, as the best-of-five semifinals series went even at one game apiece.2016-PBA-GC-SF-G2-MER-TNT-Durham Ammons vows TNT 'worst game' won't happen again Basketball News PBA - philippine sports news

Of no help to the KaTropa were injuries on Ryan Reyes, who was feeling under the weather which forced him to sit out the game, and Asian import Mike Madanly, who did not return in the second half after hurting his lower back.

Still, Ammons shrugged off the defeat, noting that it was just a case of TNT playing below par.

“Basketball is a game of runs. They made some runs we’re not able to come back,” he said.

Losing for only the second time this season-ending 2016 PBA Governors’ Cup, Ammons vowed that the KaTropa will bounce back in Game 3 on Saturday, saying that their ugly game won’t happen again.

“I cant speak for them. But the way we played tonight won’t happen again,” he promised.

“I can tell you that for sure.”
