Is veteran scoring guard Gary David headed to powerhouse PBA squad San Miguel Beer?
Agent Danny Espiritu sheds light about the development, saying David had already spoke to him about a possible move to the defending back-to-back Philippine Cup champions.
David became an unrestricted free agent after the Meralco Bolts suspended the two-time Gilas Pilipinas member last month. David, per multiple reports, has drawn the interest of a number of teams, including Mahindra and Blackwater.
“Any team can pick him up dahil sa unrestricted free agent siya,” Espiritu added.
David, who was with Espiritu, remained mum about this, declining to make further comments until everything has been cleared. “El Granada” is contracted with the Bolts until the end of the season.
Although nothing has been set in stone, Espiritu offered his opinion about a possible San Miguel stint for David.
“Nasa management yan eh.
Meralco Bolts and San Miguel Corporation management declined to comment about the matter.
Will the Beermen go all-out to add another piece to an already-stacked roster? Is David headed for a reunion with Arwind Santos (Burger King Whoppers), Marcio Lassiter (Powerade Tigers), and June Mar Fajardo (Smart Gilas 2.0)? People will find out in the near future.
