Bobby Ray Parks Jr. might have missed the chance to be drafted in the NBA, but he’ll get a second shot at playing on the biggest stage in basketball.
The Filipino-American swingman got a call from the Dallas Mavericks to be part of their Summer League team in Las Vegas. The 24-team tournament will be a good chance for Parks to not only impress the Mavericks, but also scouts from all over the league who may be interested in adding a talented young combo guard in their regular season roster.
The son of PBA Hall of Famer Bobby Parks Sr. made a name for himself playing for the National University Bulldogs of the UAAP. While with the Bulldogs, he won back-to-back Most Valuable Player awards as he transformed a perennial cellar-dweller to one of the teams to watch in the league. He won another MVP award in the PBA D-League before being invited to several pre-draft workouts with NBA teams as they prepared for the 2015 NBA Draft.
Watch our very own Bobby Ray Parks Jr. in action as he tries to make a splash in Summer League action with the Dallas Mavericks. Games will be shown via satellite on Basketball TV at the following dates:
