SOURCES: Blue Eaglet Joaqui Manuel commits to La Salle

From Blue to Green

Six-foot-three swingman Joaqui Manuel of Ateneo High School is set to join the De La Salle University Green Archers, according to multiple sources closely monitoring the situation.

According to the same sourse, Joaqui, the brother of former UP Fighting Maroon Jett Manuel, had a tough time deciding on where to enroll for college as Ateneo and UP were also in the running.

However, his decision all boiled down to where he can find playing time.

During his final year in Ateneo that saw the Blue Eaglets win the championship, he posted norms of 9.6 points on 43.6 percent and 9.1 rebounds per contest. The 18-year-old posted seven double-doubles during the season.

The seniors core of the Blue Eaglets will now go on seperate paths when they enter the men’s division. SJ Belangel and Jason Credo stayed in Ateneo while Dave Ildefonso joined his father and brother in NU.
