No holiday break for off James Yap

So far, James Yap has been struggling to find his groove in the first two games of the 2017-18 PBA Philippine Cup.

Yap, who is part of the uber-exclusive 10K club, could not get his shot to go in during the first two games of the Rain or Shine Elasto Painters, going a combined 2-for-15 from the field. The 35-year-old went 0-for-3 in 10 minutes of action in Rain or Shine’s 82-79 win over the TNT Katropa last December 22 while going an awful 2-for-12 from the field for five markers in 15 minutes Friday evening in their loss to the Blackwater Elite.

Admittedly, the 14-year league veteran shared that he has yet to find his game-form.

“Bukas palang magsimula ang bakasyon namin so focus muna, pakundisyon muna medyo out of shape pa,” the 6-foot-3 gunner shared.

Though getting the minutes, the native of Escalante, Negros Occidental rued that he is letting his team down when he is on the floor. With this slump, Yap is noting the things he needs to work out on — giving a positive spin to a disappointing campaign so far.

Masama,” the seven-time champion added.

And his regimen will begin by avoiding the temptation of food on New Year’s eve.
