Zamboanga Valientes join PBA 3×3

The non-member team joining PBA 3×3 has been revealed.

Zamboanga Valientes MLV will join the league’s first staging of a 3×3 basketball tournament.

For team owner Junnie Navarro, this is a dream of his that has finally become a reality.

“In my tender years, my sole dream is not only to be a basketball player in my city, but to make it to the highest professional league, the PBA. But God has other plans for me. He has prepared another road to take, and that is to become a team owner of the said league,” said Navarro, a former player as well.

“It has never crossed my mind that I will be one of those few people who will be owning a team in PBA 3×3 league.”

Since 2019, Zamboanga Valientes have been part of Chooks-to-Go Pilipinas 3×3, even competing in the 2019 Manila Challenger.

After the President’s Cup, a new Valientes team played in Australia’s 3×3 circuit, winning the 3×3 Christmas Hustle in Canberra, CLB 3×3 In Bendigo, CLB 3×3 Portland Opens, and the Champions League in Hamilton.

The team backed by SMART, MLV Accounting, Gaisano Mall, Smart, Bahnhof Language Training Center, Kings Manpower, and Kamiseta Mindanao will join 11 PBA teams in the 3×3 tournament.

A total of 16 teams are being eyed.
