TNT to debut Black GIGA Mamba jerseys

SMART CLARK GIGA CITY — TNT will channel its inner Black Mamba when it takes on sister team and bitter rival Meralco Bolts on Saturday afternoon, as it is keen on snapping its skid in the 2020 PBA Philippine Cup.

Ahead of their 4:00 p.m. clash, the Tropang Giga unveiled their new jerseys inspired by the black and gold jersey of reigning NBA champions Los Angeles Lakers, which pay homage to the late, great Kobe Bryant.

“Unleashing the ALL BLACK GIGA MAMBAS tonight,” wrote TNT through its official Twitter account @TNTTropangGiga.

“Let’s get that win #TropangGIGA!!!”

This will be the first time the flagship MVP Group franchise will play in black jerseys, as it has mainly worn blue and yellow kits. This season, TNT has white (light), blue (dark), and yellow (dark alternate) uniforms.

LGR Sportswear Inc., one of the top local sports apparel companies, is the Tropang Giga’s official outfitter.

The Black Mamba jerseys seemed to have some kind of magic for the Lakers — they’ve had an impressive win record wearing those, so the Tropa wants to emulate that with their own Mamba jerseys.

After starting the bubble season with six consecutive wins, TNT has been on a two-game slide, the last of which was a 79-85 defeat in the hands of Barangay Ginebra San Miguel on Friday night in a clash of erstwhile co-leaders.
