TNC drops to fourth place in AniMajor

TNC suffered a sweep at the hands PSG.LGD before salvaging a draw against legendary midlaner Syed “SumaiL” Hassan’s Team Liquid on the third day of the WePlay AniMajor group stage, Monday.

The all-Filipino squad, who forced a four-way tie in the second spot prior to day three, fell to fourth place with a 2-2-2 record tied with Evil Geniuses with a 1-4-1 win-draw-loss standing.

PSG.LGD ran over TNC as early as Game One with Zhao “XinQ” Zixing’s Winter Wyvern leading the way. The TI 8 grand finalist then leaned on Cheng “NothingToSay” Jin Xiang’s Templar Assassin in Game Two to finish off the Filipinos.

TNC managed to pick up its first win of the day against Team Liquid through Kim “Gabbi” Villafuerte’s Axe, who finished with 12 kills and 10 assists against two deaths in Game One. However, Aydin “iNSaNiA” Sarkohi’s impressive Lion performance in Game Two denied TNC of a sweep.

PSG.LGD, who is currently at the top of the standings with a 4-2-0 standing, has already secured its spot in the upper bracket playoffs.

TNC still has a slim chance to make it to the upper bracket but will have to win a 2-0 sweep against Team Spirit and hope that the other top teams will lose their matches.

The Filipinos will face Team Spirit later in the day at 8:00 pm.
