Tiras Wade to replace injured Richard Howell in iECO’s match vs Xinjiang

Help will be coming in the iECO Green Warriors’ way, as the injured Richard Howell is set to be replaced by former PBA import Tiras Wade as confirmed by head coach Ariel Vanguardia to Tiebreaker Times on Wednesday.

The 6-foot-8 Howell was hurt on Tuesday night in iECO’s match versus the Ryukyu Golden Kings when a Ryukyu player landed on his left leg, which made it hard for him to get back up – Howell had to be carried off a stretcher.

Howell never returned to the match, and the Green Warriors missed his services badly as iECO lost by 28, 75-103,

According to Vanguardia, Howell’s diagnosis is a severe sprain on his left foot and a hyperextended knee. Like what he had prayed, it is nothing serious, but that doesn’t mean he’s good to go versus Xinjiang Flying Tigers Thursday.

Which is why Wade will be coming in.

Wade, just like Howell, is a former Talk N’ Text import back in 2009. He’s coming from Guangzhou, which is one and a half hours from Macau. Wade is a former import of Vanguardia years ago in the Westports Malaysia Dragons.

“He will practice today with us,” said Vanguardia.
