Another Smart Elite ambassador takes the ACCEL Quantum/3XVI-NCAA Press Corps Player of the Week award!
Jose Rizal University Heavy Bomber Tey Teodoro has been clutch all throughout the season. It all started with a game-winning floater against the Far Eastern University Tamaraws during the third place game of the Filoil Premiere Cup last June. Last August 11, Teodoro was clutch once again in scoring a career-high 32 points, 13 points in the last four minutes, in a huge come from behind victory against the Mapua Institute of Technology Cardinals.
The Smart Elite ambassador has been having a career season, averaging 16 points a game for a Kalentong-based team seeking no less than its first seniors championships since going all the way 43 years back.
“I’ve always told him he’s the best player in this team,” said Jose Rizal coach Vergel Meneses of Teodoro. Teodoro thanked his coach and teammates for the trust and confidence given to him.
Teodoro beat out the following players for this week’s honors:
Ola Adeogun (San Beda College Red Lions)
Stats: 28 points, on 12/18 shooting, and 14 rebounds (Win over San Sebastian College-Recoletos Golden Stags)
Rey Nambatac (Colegio de San Juan de Letran Knights)
Stats: 22 points, 7/21 FG, 6/12 3FG, 10 rebounds, 5 steals (Win over Mapua Institute of Technology Cardinals)
