Team Secret gains outright qualification to Valorant Championship

Team Secret’s redemption tour has officially begun.

Despite missing the Valorant Champions Tour 2021: Stage 3 Masters – Berlin, the all-Filipino squad gained an outright berth to the Valorant Champions 2021 with a total of 2013 VCT points, Thursday.

Paper Rex’s 1-2 loss to SuperMassive Blaze which eliminated them from the Masters Berlin solidified the Filipinos’ spot in the world championship slated on December.

Team Secret will join world powerhouse Sentinels along with KRU Esports, Team Vikings, Keyd Stars, Vision Strikers, Crazy Raccoon, X10 Esports in the 16-team field.

The team, back when they were carrying the Bren Esports banner, qualified for the Masters Berlin but failed to secure the necessary travel visas on time which forced Riot Games to cut them from the tournament.

Still, the squad collected a total of 175 points for qualifying as well as the associated prize.

Composed of former CS:GO veterans Kevin “Dispenser” Te, Jim “BORKUM” Timbreza, Jayveee “DubsteP” Paguiran, Riley “Witz” Go, and former Dota 2 pro Jessie “JessieVash” Cuyco, Team Secret is looking to give the Philippines its first Major breakthrough in the global FPS scene.

The Champions Tour is still waiting for the last eight slots to be filled by the winners from the Masters Berlin and each region’s Last Chance Qualifiers.
