T4 in the Philippines? Why not, she says

The PhilSports Arena was bursting at the seams on Tuesday evening, with Filipinos of all sorts and sizes flocking to the venue to cheer on the Philippine Women’s National Volleyball team in its Southeast Asian Games opener against Vietnam.

And despite the heartbreaking five-set result to the Vietnamese, the Philippine contingent gave the home crowd a reason to be passionate.

The Filipinas put the visiting team in a tough position all throughout the match. And whenever they scored on the Vietnamese, pandemonium would always break out.

Vietnam’s ace Tran Thi Thanh Thuy bore witness to that, enough to convince her that the Philippines is a great place to play in.

“If given a chance in the future, I’m open to playing here,” bared the Vietnamese skipper, whom the volleyball community often calls T4.

“I can go here and play for any team here in the Philippines.”

Still, the future of Thuy remains uncertain since she’s still a part of the Denso Airybees, a club team in the vaunted Japan V. Premier League.

One thing is certain though, any team that will acquire the services of Thuy would immediately receive a huge boost on all fronts.

Her monster triple-double of 27 points, 13 excellent digs, and 13 excellent receptions is a testament to that.
