Sean Climaco looks to build momentum in return at ONE 168

Sean Climaco finds himself in the spotlight once more, poised to continue his meteoric rise in ONE Championship.

The Filipino-American standout reports for duty at ONE 168. This event is set to take place at the 21,000-capacity Ball Arena in Denver, Colorado on September 7 (Philippine time).

There, the 30-year-old San Jose, California native battles fellow hard-hitter Johan Estupinan in a flyweight Muay Thai contest.

Climaco initially garnered mainstream attention after dominating the Road To ONE: America tournament, where he left a trail of knockouts in his wake to earn a contract with the Singapore-based outfit.

His transition to the main roster was nothing short of spectacular. In his maiden assignment, “The One” dismantled Josue Cruz with a devastating body shot that concluded the bout in the opening round this past May.

This emphatic win underscored Climaco’s readiness for tougher challenges and signaled his arrival as a force to be reckoned with in a stacked division ruled by Thai megastar Rodtang Jitmuangnon.

Standing across from Climaco in Denver will be Johan Estupinan, the first Colombian athlete to compete under the organization’s banner.

“Panda Kick” burst onto the scene with a lightning-fast knockout of Kouta Omori in his promotional debut last May and followed it up with a dominant unanimous decision win over Zafer Sayik a month later.

Undefeated in his professional career with a flawless record of 24-0, Estupinan aims to elevate his status further by facing Climaco in what promises to be his toughest test yet.

By the looks of it, Climaco will be the Philippines’ sole representative at ONE 168 as more renowned homegrown talents like Eduard Folayang aspire to secure a spot on the card.
