Rain or Shine signs Yeng Guiao to five-year extension

Rain or Shine is all in with Yeng Guiao.

The Elasto Painters have signed the champion mentor to a fresh contract valid until 2028, the PBA ball club announced via social media Wednesday.

Also present in the signing were team owners Raymond Yu and Terry Que, as well as team governor Atty. Mamerto Mondragon.

Guiao returned to Rain or Shine prior to the 2022 Commissioner’s Cup last September after spending the past six years with NLEX.

It was a homecoming of sorts as he mentored the franchise formerly known as Welcoat in 2011-16 in a stint highlighted by two championships.

The Elasto Painters returned to the quarterfinals in his first conference back, but fell short of getting past the eliminations in the Governors’ Cup.

Guiao’s signing is undeniably in line with RoS’ rebuild, where it will look to create a better unit through the draft and trades in the long offseason ahead.
