PitchBlack_6969, Csangab advance to PFF eTrophy Final Four

The road to becoming the inaugural PFF eTrophy champion was a competitive affair this afternoon amongst FIFA 21 gamers, who seek to represent the Philippines in the upcoming FIFAe Nations Series 2021.

After a grueling group stage, Renard Yu (PitchBlack_6969), Jorrel Aristorenas (RellyClips), Ciccio San Gabriel (Csangab), and Robby Sison (rosemallov) earned the right to advance to the knockout stages after securing top-two finishes in their respective groups, Thursday evening.

Yu earned the top spot in Group A with 7 points after a 2-0 win over Miguelito Aquino (ArcaneCaster6) to start his afternoon. The Xavier School product then followed his initial victory with a 3-2 squeaker over Aristorenas. He finished with a 1-1 draw against Skating PH president Carl Sembrano (unitedstoke).

Aristorenas, on the other hand, sealed second place with 6 points after identical 3-1 wins over Aquino and Sembrano.

Over at Group B, it was a dominant performance by San Gabriel. He won all over his groupmates to finish with 9 points and a whopping goal difference of 17. San Gabriel demolished Christian Sulaspas (ChrisSulaspas23) 8-2; trashed Sison 5-0; then ended his session with a 7-1 victory over Rone Camarines (Ronedinho_96) with a 7-1 scoreline.

Sison then was able to finish as the runner-up to San Gabriel with 4 points, courtesy of a 5-1 win over Sulaspas and a 0-0 draw against Camarines.

Yu and Sison shall go head-to-head in the two-legged semi-finals while Aristorenas and San Gabriel will compete against each other in the same stage. The winners of the round shall be determined by aggregate score. If that is not enough to find a clear winner, there will be a deciding match, which they will play under the golden goal rule.
