With just two months to go before its historic debut on the world stage, the Philippine Women’s National Futsal Team now knows the nations it must overcome to reach the knockout rounds of the inaugural 2025 FIFA Futsal Women’s World Cup.
In the official draw held today at the BGC Arts Center in Taguig, the Philippines was grouped with Argentina, Poland, and Morocco in Group A of the global tournament.
Of the three opponents, Argentina poses the toughest challenge. Ranked sixth in the world, La Albiceleste are two-time runners-up in the Copa América Femenina de Futsal, though they have yet to capture an international title.
Poland, ranked 14th, has found success in minor tournaments, while Morocco, ranked 31st, enters the competition as the reigning Women’s Futsal Africa Cup of Nations champion.
Following the ongoing 2025 FIVB Men’s Volleyball World Championship, the Women’s Futsal World Cup will be the next major world championship hosted by the Philippines.
The 16-nation tournament will feature four groups, with the top two squads from each advancing to the knockout stage.
