NorthPort receives Balanza, second round PBA Draft pick swap from Ginebra

Jerrick Balanza is reuniting with his former college head coach.

Barangay Ginebra sent the rookie and the 24th overall pick in the 2021 PBA Draft to NorthPort in exchange for the 13th pick in the same draft.

Multiple sources closely monitoring the situation confirmed the trade to Tiebreaker Times.

Balanza was the 13th overall pick in the 2019 PBA Draft. In the bubble, the 25-year-old product of Letran played in 10 games.

The 6-foot-2 guard reunites with his former Letran coaches Jeff Napa and Bonnie Tan in NorthPort.

This trade was supposed to be part of the Christian Standhardinger-Greg Slaughter swap last week, the source added.

This would mean that Ginebra will have the 12th and 13th pick in the uber deep draft.
