MP the King credits H2wo for improvements

Michael “MP the King” Endino has been a revelation for Nexplay EVOS this MPL Philippines Season Nine.

Playing for a team that showcases different lineups for its matches, the 17-year-old rookie out of AP Esports has suited up in three of Nexplay EVOS’ matches this season. And so far, the team is currently 3-0 with MP the King playing as the jungler.

MP the King’s stellar performance, though, did not just result in wins – with fans turning their ire on Nexplay EVOS’ main jungler John Paul “H2wo” Salonga, who played in the team’s two losses against RSG PH and Omega Esports earlier in the season.

The young jungler from Iloilo City has already defended his mentor a week ago. But on Saturday night, he made sure to address the issue once more. Speaking after Nexplay EVOS’ 2-1 against TNC, MP the King leaped to H2wo’s defense anew, calling out fans who are continuously bashing the latter.

“Para sa akin po parehas kaming malakas ni H2,” MP the King said after during the post-game interview. “Pero magkaiba lang talaga kami ng playstyle tapos mas pabor lang talaga yung playing style ko ngayon sa mga laro namin

“Pero ‘di ko masasabi na mahina talaga si H2 kasi doon ako natuto.”

In fact, MP the King even credited H2wo for his improvements this MPL Philippines Season Nine. According to him, the veteran jungler played a pivotal role in his development and has been an exceptional mentor to him ever since he joined the team in the offseason.

Changes in the meta, MP the King said, were one of the key factors in H2wo’s struggles this season. But once he finally gets a good grasp of the current meta, the young jungler believes that it is only a matter of time before H2wo can regain his old form.

MP the King provided five kills and five assists against one death playing Lancelot in Nexplay EVOS’ 15-3 Game One win against TNC. He then delivered five kills and eight assists against a death in the series-clinching, 18-8 Game Three win to cap off the series.

The win put Nexplay EVOS (4-2) at the third spot tied with RSG PH (4-2) with 11 points each.

Nexplay EVOS will take on former tank Tristan “Yawi” Cabrera and the top-ranked ECHO on Sunday at 8:00 PM.
