MDL PH: Echo Proud forces tie at 2nd with Omega Neos

With league-leading GameLab taking a break, it was Echo Proud who took the spotlight on Wednesday after they swept TNC, 2-0, in Week 2 of the Mobile Legends Development League (MDL) Philippines Season 1.

They are now in a tie for second with eight points after Smart Omega Neos faltered against Bren Euphoria in today’s match-ups.

Jankurt “KurtTzy” stepped up big time for Echo, first taking the MVP with Kadita in Game 1 then zoning out and taking down Keer “K1d” Recto (Hanzo) during the pivotal 17th-minute lord fight for the sweep.

Meanwhile, Bren Euphoria Esports sent Smart Omega Neos back to earth after a 2-1 reverse sweep to snap the latter’s undefeated streak this season.

Midlaner Joshua “Ryujin” Ramos’s prowess was on full display as he spearheaded Bren’s comeback win on the way to finishing with 6-3-2 and 4-1-12 KDAs in the final two games.

Blacklist Academy also scored their season win after handing Nexplay Evos Tiger Cubs their third loss. They are now solo third with seven points.

Lee Howard “Owl” Gonzales was a force to be reckoned with, dominating the gold lane en route to a pair of MVPs built around norms of 8.5 kills, 7.5 assists, and 2.0 deaths in the two-game series.

RSG Ignite also scored a win after sweeping Onic Arsenals, 2-0, to improve to 2-2.

John Darry “1rrad” Abarquez capped off his stellar performance in the series with a triple kill in the dying moments of Game 2 to take the match MVP honors courtesy of a 5-2-9 KDA.

They now have five points (2-1) to climb to the top half of the standings.
