Matthew, Marlou Aquino to move to National University

During the Adamson Soaring Falcons’ last game in the 2015 Filoil Flying V Premier Cup against the Jose Rizal University Heavy Bombers, it was noticeable that AdU’s assistant coach Marlou Aquino and sophomore center Matthew Aquino were not present in the game.

When asked to comment about the absence, Adamson interim head coach Mike Fermin told us that he has no comment on the matter. “You better ask Matt about it,” he told Tiebreaker Times. “Pero sayang kasi pataas na ang laro niya.”

But according to our source from National University, both Matthew and Marlou Aquino have transferred to the Sampaloc-based squad. Marlou and Matthew attended Adamson’s practice last Wednesday as a sign of respect and to bid the team farewell.

The 6’7″ Matthew Aquino will get to play during the 79th season of the UAAP after serving a one year residency according to the UAAP rule book. On the other hand, Marlou Aquino will serve as a team consultant.

This move will further strengthen the frontline of the UAAP 77 Men’s Basketball Champions as the team will have both Aquino and former DLSU Green Archer Matt Salem to man the front with Alfred Aroga during the 79th season of the UAAP.
