Marcio Lassiter further cemented his status as one of the PBA’s best shooters.
The San Miguel winger has joined an elite company as he became the newest member of the league’s 1,000 three-point field goals made club.
The 11-year pro out of San Francisco, California achieved the milestone after nailing three triples during the first half of the Beermen’s Philippine Cup duel with NLEX, Thursday at Ynares Center.
The 35-year-old made the record-setting shot at the 3:56-mark of the second quarter — a shot that came from an assist by good pal Chris Ross.
Picked fourth overall by Powerade in the 2011 Draft, Lassiter is just the ninth player to hit 1K triples, according to league stats chief Fidel Mangonon III.
He now joins all-time greats Jimmy Alapag, Allan Caidic, James Yap, Ronnie Magsanoc, Dondon Hontiveros, LA Tenorio, Arwind Santos, and Al Solis.
Alapag, the 2011 PBA MVP, heads the list with 1,250.
