Before Lito “Thunder Kid” Adiwang became a staple in ONE Championship, he focused his aggression on a different sport.
The 27-year-old was into downhill trail riding with his mountain bike.
Adiwang enjoyed the sport, but he was advised against pursuing it because of his aggressive way of riding down the mountains.
“You know before I did downhill mountain bike riding, I really loved it, but I eventually stopped it on the advice from others,” Adiwang said.
“They told me that I was too aggressive for the sport and it can actually lead to me being in an accident, so I really had to stop it.”
The mountainous terrain of Baguio City is perfect for trail riders. Even fellow Team Lakay members Geje “Gravity” Eustaquio and Edward “The Ferocious” Kelly like to ride them occasionally.
While “Thunder Kid” wants nothing more than to join them, he is leaving all the fun to them.
“I did that earlier, way before them, so when I saw them doing it, I was excited for them because I know how fun of a sport this is,” he said.
To say the least, things turned out for the better as Adiwang ended up becoming one of the most exciting young talents in The Home Of Martial Arts.
While admitting that he misses his carefree days, Adiwang wants to focus on mixed martial arts, especially since he has finally found a sport he can use to channel his energy.
“Of course I miss it, but I am in a different career now. I can’t afford to get injured.”
