Kevin Ferrer remains an integral part of NorthPort moving forward.
The sweet-shooting forward signed a fresh two-year contract with the Batang Pier on Thursday. The team did not disclose the terms of the deal.
Agent Marvin Espiritu accompanied Ferrer in the signing, which was also graced by team manager Bonnie Tan.
The two-time PBA champ is in his fourth season with NorthPort after arriving via trade from Ginebra in 2019 – a deal centered on Stanley Pringle.
He has had his best stretches of play with the Batang Pier, especially in the 2019 Commissioner’s Cup. There, he averaged 13.2 points and 5.8 rebounds.
Injuries have slowed him down a bit, but he remains one of the team’s more consistent producers. And he showed as much in the Clark bubble play in 2020.
There, he put up 10.8 points on 37.5-percent shooting from deep and 4.4 boards. He was also among the bright spots of their one-win campaign.
Presently, Ferrer is norming 3.8 markers and 2.5 caroms in the 2021-22 Governors’ Cup, where NorthPort remains the only winless team at 0-4.
The contract extension marks yet another blessing for the 28-year-old. Just recently, he and his wife celebrated their union in a church ceremony.
