KBL slaps P128K fine on Onuaku for ‘dangerous foul’ on Abando

The Korean Basketball League has imposed a substantial fine on Goyang Sono’s import Chinanu Onuaku for the ‘dangerous act’ he committed against Rhenz Abando, leading to the latter fracturing multiple vertebrae, a sprained wrist, and a concussion.

Onuaku has been fined W3,000,000 (P128,386.36) following a review of the incident that occurred during the December 28 game between Goyang Sono and Anyang Jung Kwan Jang.

Midway through the second stanza of the said contest, Abando attempted to secure a rebound but ended up crashing back-first.

As seen in replays, Onuaku was observed shoving Abando, resulting in him losing balance and failing to land properly.

Officials of the Red Boosters were furious after the game and requested a review of the incident.

It was determined that Onuaku’s act was intentional.
