An opportunity to grow.
That’s how Kairi “Kairi” Rayosdelsol described his unprecedented move to MPL Indonesia after signing with ONIC Esports – ONIC PH’s parent company – on Monday afternoon.
“It’s a good opportunity for me, myself and it’s also a good experience for me to grow,” said Kairi during ONIC Esports’ press conference.
The former Blacklist International jungler said that the MPL scene in Indonesia is much bigger than in the Philippines. This, according to Kairi, proved one of the key factors for why he moved to the region.
Aside from the competitiveness of the league, Kairi also shared that the opportunity to earn more than what he’s earning in the Philippines played a role in his decision.
“I’m actually interested to play in Indonesia because Mobile Legends is bigger here than in the Philippines. I think I can grow more [here] and earn a lot,” said the pride of Limay, Bataan.
Indeed, playing overseas is a tough, tough job for a 16-year-old kid. The good thing for Kairi, he has coach Denver “Yeb” Miranda – the main reason why his parents allowed him to go – by his side to help him along the way.
“I actually [went] to Indonesia because my parents let me go because I’m with coach Yeb so [I have] someone older than me,” revealed Kairi.
Now officially part of his dream team, Kairi is looking forward to going up against the best that Indonesia has to offer.
“I’m actually very, very excited this coming MPL Season 10 because the META has changed already and I’m excited to play against other junglers [here in Indonesia].”
