AP.Bren adds Games of the Future title to growing international accolades

AP.Bren continued to dominate the world Mobile Legends: Bang Bang (MLBB) stage as the Philippine Esports powerhouse accomplished a perfect campaign in the Games of the Future 2024, on Sunday in Kazan, Russia.

AP.Bren, founded by Bernard Chong, asserted its mastery of Indonesia’s Onic Esports, 3-1, in the championship round to win its third championship following a banner year 2023, ruling the M5 World Championship following its successful title run in the MPL Philippines Season 12.

The Filipinos brought home a total of $350, 000 (over P19 million) in the A-Tier tournament, where they swept all their five games.

Bren’s latest champion team is composed of Marco “Super Marco” Requitiano, David “FlapTzy” Canon, Michael “KyleTzy” Sayson, Angelo “Pheww” Arcangel, and Rowgien “Owgen” Unigo.

AP.Bren started the finals series by winning the first two games, inching a match closer to another championship. But Onic Indonesia came to life in Game 3, refusing to be swept in the series.

The Filipinos dominated the fourth game to clinch the title with an 11-1 rout led by Requitiano, who used Beatrix and tallied with a master 7-0-3 Kills-Deaths-Assists performance.

The Philippine side dominated all its opponents in Group B with back-to-back 2-0 wins over Homebois of Malaysia and Twisted Minds of Saudi Arabia en route to the quarterfinals.

AP.Bren swept HomeBois anew in the quarterfinal round but needed to overcome Indonesia’s RRQ Hoshi, which forced the Philippines into a deciding Game 3 before reaching the finals against another Indonesian team.
