Maybe the Korean Basketball League (KBL) should adopt the four-pointer.
Ha Seung-jin offered as much after the former NBA player saw with his own eyes the controversial shot when he graced the PBA on Thursday night.
He actually never had any idea about its existence until he paid the Filipino league a visit, admitting that it was “a little strange” but fun at the same time.
“I never knew the four-point [shot]. It was a little strange but it was very fun. Maybe KBL needs the four-point [shot] too,” the 7-foot-3 big man, who played for Portland from 2004-06, told reporters with a smile.
The Korean basketball icon, along with his family, was at the Philsports Arena to show support to Ricardo Ratliffe as Magnolia took on Phoenix.
It wasn’t really part of the plan since they were just in town for a week-long vacation, until they learned that his good pal is playing in the league.
“I’m here for vacation for my family and I heard Ricardo plays in the PBA. ‘Oh, really? I should go.’ So I talked to Ricardo’s wife and I’m here,” he said.
He would go on to witness Ratliffe pour 22 points and 19 rebounds to help his side net the 110-104 victory to stay alive in the Season 49 Commissioner’s Cup.
Ha simply was left impressed with the 35-year-old center, whom he played alongside with for some time in the Korean men’s national team.
“He’s still strong,” he said.
“Still savage. Still dominant. He definitely can come back to Korea. KBL needs Ricardo,” furthered the Jeonju KCC Egis legend, smiling.
