Danny Ildefonso signed a one-season contract with the Meralco Bolts last year, and with the Bolts falling to San Miguel, 102-86 in the PBA Governors’ Cup quarter-finals, the foreseeable future becomes uncertain for the former two-time league MVP.
Ildefonso earlier told Sports5 that it would be sad leaving the sport he embraced for about two decades.

The Meralco forward added he remains open to helping the Bolts if the squads needs an extra big guy on the floor.
“Kapag kailangan pa ako ng Meralco, okay lang (na maglaro pa ako),” Ildefonso told media Monday night.
Ildefonso put up 10.8 PPG and 6 RPG in a storied 16-year career which included multiple championships with the San Miguel beer franchise. He was also included in the PBA’s Top 40 Greatest Players list.
There are no negotiations yet between the Meralco management and Ildefonso on a new deal.
