Falcons soar and dispatches struggling Warriors for third win

The Adamson Falcons improve to a 3-1 win-loss slate in the continuing Men’s Volleyball games after posting a 25-13, 25-10, 25-18 win against the still winless UE Red Warriors at San Juan Arena.

The first two sets was a total domination for the young Adamson squad led by captain Michael Sudaria and Dave Platedo. Platedo’s net defense made it tought for the Red Warriors as he issued a game-high five rejections in the match.

The Falcons eight service aces majority occured in the first two sets that added extra cushion to the margin. A rattled UE squad showed up and their slow scoring helped Adamson’s rally to pull through.

Down big in the third set, the Red Warriors made a mid-set rally unleashing a 6-0 run to pull within two. The defense of the Warriors forced Falcons to a number of errors that made the match close. Off the timeout, Adamson’s blocking and late hits from rookie Jerome Sarmiento will help them close out the game.

A one-sided affair showcased a domination from Adamson in attacks, 36-16 and blocked more, 8-5. Setter Karlle Ramirez also played well with his 19 successful sets. With the loss, UE drops to the cellar with a 0-4 record.

Edward Campusano was the lone bright spot for the Warriors with 14 in a losing effort.

Up next for the Adamson Falcons will be versus the DLSU Green Spikers while the struggling Warriors continues its search for their first win of the season against the streaking NU Bulldogs. Both games will be played on Dec. 13, the last game day for 2014 at San Juan Arena.
