Ex-UP Fighting Maroon Kevin Astorga arrested by PDEA


Former RP Youth Team captain Kevin Astorga was apprehended early Tuesday morning for alleged possession of marijuana and cocaine. 

The arrest was made in the wee hours of Tuesday at his home in JEMP Building, BF Homes in Parañaque City.

Arresting officers were PDEA’s Jill Salamanca, Southern Police District, and Paranaque police.

Astorga, together with friends Agustin Montejo, Jericho Tumagan, Karen Salvahan, and Miguel Morajes, were caught with 150 grams of kush, sachets with suspected cocaine, drug paraphernalia, and two cellphones that were used for transactions.

Astorga, a 6-foot-3 swingman, represented the Philippines in the 2002 and 2004 SEABA Under-18 Championship.

After graduating from International School Manila, Astorga went to UP, playing there from UAAP Seasons 68-72.

Astorga was celebrating his 34th birthday when the arrest was made.
