Chantelle, Leo to honor Dunoo during MPL PH 8 broadcast

The Philippine esports scene lost a legend on Friday with the passing of Aldrin “Dunoo” Pangan.

And MPL Philippines shoutcasters Chantelle “Chantelle” Hernandez and Dan “Leo” Cubangay will make sure to honor the Filipino shoutcasting pioneer later on when they take the stage for the opening of Season Eight.

“Kuya D, para sa’yo yung mamaya,” wrote Chantelle.

“Para kay Kuya D ang cast ko mamaya,” tweeted Leo.

The two also shared some of their most memorable moments with the esports icon in their respective Twitter accounts.

Dunoo was a co-talent of Chantelle in LuponWxC. The former also served as a mentor for the latter who will be making her comeback in the premier Mobile Legends league in the Philippines as a last-minute addition to the Season Eight roster.

“Lagi mo ko kinukulit about sa MPL! ‘Di kita sinasabihan kasi gusto ko ma-surprise ka, yun pala akong yung masusurprise,” expressed Chantelle.

“Kuya D, mahal kita.

Meanwhile, Leo shared how Dunoo immediately volunteered to be one of the speakers in The Madrigal Project.

The Madrigal Project is a free course for aspiring esports broadcasters which was founded by Leo himself.

MPL Philippines will raise its curtains later at 6:00 PM with ONIC PH and ECHO opening the festivities followed by the Blacklist International-TNC bout at 8:00 PM.
