Castillo happy shots went in as La Salle serves revenge against FEU

De La Salle guard Ana Castillo was coming off an atrocious shooting performance when the Lady Archers barely staved off Far Eastern University last Sunday.

Castillo, the Taft side’s main three-point threat, went a dismal 1-for-11 from downtown and finished shooting 3-for-15 overall.

She relays that missing that badly can sometimes affect her mindset or makes her hesitate while on the floor.

But like what great shooters do, Castillo kept on trying, and her explosion found a perfect time when the Lady Archers shut Far Eastern University, 54-45.

Castillo was on fire this time around, making 5-for-11 from long distance which included a string of 4 straight triples in the third period where La Salle pulled away.

While head coach Cholo Villanueva does not necessarily hand out special instructions to his team, Castillo adds she just takes the initiative knowing it’s the main way she can contribute to her team.

Castillo is happy as La Salle, which lost to to FEU in the semi-finals last year, finally got some measure of revenge, and she hopes to improve not only her offense but also the other aspects of her game.

“Masaya kami dahil ang goal namin makabawi sa FEU, and nagawa naman namin in this game,” she said.
