When F2 Logistics finally announced its entry into the Premier Volleyball League, many were excited not just with the team’s addition but also for the return of Ramil de Jesus to the country’s first-ever women’s volleyball league.
After all, it has been 14 years since the decorated mentor last appeared in the SportsVision-organized league.
That streak though continued on Wednesday afternoon as De Jesus was nowhere to be found during F2 Logistics’ clash against Black Mamba-Army.
Moreover, assistant coach Benson Bocboc was listed as the head coach of the Cargo Movers.
According to Bocboc, both De Jesus and deputy head coach of F2 Logistics Noel Orcullo are both inside La Salle’s bubble in Taft.
The Lady Spikers are preparing for UAAP Season 84 which begins after May 12.
“Unavailable si Coach Ramil as of now,” said Bocboc, adding that De Jesus is still the team’s consultant.
“As you know, we have strict protocols sa ibang teams natin kaya hindi available.”
Bocboc is just glad that he was able to steer F2 Logistics to its debut win in the league, triumphing over Army in four sets.
“Of course, we haven’t played against Army for a long time and we know they are tight in defense. Madami rin silang bagong players na naka-contribute especially sa attack. We just held on, it’s our first game so naggagamay pa tayo,” he said.
“Everyone is still building that connection sa team.”
