Barako Bull Energy ended its PBA Dickies 3-on-3 Women’s Basketball Tournament campaign on a good note after edging the Talk ‘N Text Tropang Texters, 9-6 Wednesday at the Smart-Araneta Coliseumm
The Energy overcame a poor start and relied on Regina Dela Merced in the end for the win.
Anna Maristela first hit a two as the Tropang Texters led 3-1 before Dela Merced made two free throws to push Barako ahead, 5-4.
Janna Averilla then hit a two while Aileen Bernadez converted on an and-one play to make it 9-4 for the Energy with less than a minute left.
The Energy rounded out its run with a 2-3 record while TNT finished with a 1-4 slate in Group A.
Globalport Batang Pier defeated San Miguel Beer via default in the second game to improve its overall standing to 3-2 in Group B.
The Beermen will exit the tournament with a 2-3 card.
