The Barako Bull notched their first win, while Globalport improved their record after another victory in the PBA Dickies Women’s 3-on-3 basketball tournament Wednesday at the Cuneta Astrodome.
Globalport blitzed past Star, 7-1, in the first game to reach the .500 mark with a 2-2 card.
Julie Gula and Nelia Sinsioco took turns scoring for the Batang Pier, who took a 4-1 lead. Two more baskets by Jasmine Tiu-Malto made it 6-1, before a free throw by Vanessa Santos ended the game.
Regina Castillo was the lone scorer for the Hotshots, who ended their Group B campaign with a 1-4 record.
In the second game, Barako Bull edged Rain or Shine, 14-11, to pick up their first victory in a battle of winless teams in Group A.
Regina Dela Merced put on a splendid display early for the Energy, scoring with a slew of moves. She nothced the first five points of Barako as her team went ahead, 5-2.
Charlene Camba scored the next four points later on for Rain or Shine as the Elasto Painters pulled within 8-6.
But an and-one play by Micah Torres pushed Barako up, 10-6 as the team held on for the win.
Rain or Shine ended with a winless 0-5 card in Group A while Barako improved to 1-3.
