Alyssa Valdez bags 5th PVL MVP plum


Creamline captain Alyssa Valdez continues her domination over the Premier Volleyball League after being named the Open Conference Most Valuable Player.

The 25-year-old spiker tallied 231 kills, 34 service aces, and 15 blocks in the elimination round. Moreover, the Ateneo great had 3.50 digs per set – fourth in the league behind three liberos.

The former Ateneo Lady Eagle wins her fifth MVP recognition, the most of any player in the league’s long history since beginning as the Shakey’s V-League back in 2004.

The native of San Juan, Batangas also won the 2015 Open Conference, 2015 Collegiate Conference, 2016 Reinforced Conference, and 2017 Reinforced Conference MVP plums.

Valdez was also hailed as the 1st Best Open Hitter. Fellow Cool Smashers Jema Galanza and Jia Morado were named 2nd Best Open Hitter and Best Setter, respectively.

Ateneo-Motolite’s seniors Kat Tolentino and Maddie Madayag earned the 1st Best Middle Blocker and Best Opposite Hitter, respectively.

BanKo’s Kathy Bersola was the 2nd Best Middle Blocker, while Petro Gazz’s Cienne Cruz was honored as the Best Libero.
