Stanley Pringle lauds Globalport’s aggressiveness in upset of TNT

Friday night at the Ynares Center in Antipolo could not get any better for Stanley Pringle, as he had posted his career-high in points. Moreover, his effort did not go to waste, as he and the Globalport Batang Pier stunned the TNT Katropa.

“I just came out to play and win the game,” said the 30-year-old combo guard, who scored 30 points on an excellent 62.5-percent shooting clip in the Batang Pier’s 119-112 shocker.

But for the scoring machine from San Diego, California, it was the Batang Pier’s aggressiveness that brought wonders to the huge victory, their first in the five meetings they have had with TNT this season.

“We came out [and] played aggressive. We went up, they made an attempt to come back — they were coming back, but we just tried to stay aggressive,” said Pringle, who is averaging 19.0 points and 3.6 assists this conference.

“It’s a big win. It’s a tough team. We never played TNT without having a tough game.”

But Globalport have little time to celebrate Friday’s win, as they will play their second game in three days this Sunday versus the NLEX Road Warriors. But for the three-time All-Star, it’s all about having enough mental toughness.

“We gotta stay focused. Everybody gonna get their legs back. After we get our legs back, we’ll watch the film and get off our feet physically, but it’s all gonna be mental,” declared Pringle.
