James Yap finally reaches 10,000 points

After several tries, two-time Most Valuable Player James Yap finally reached one of his career’s biggest milestones — reaching 10,000 career points, that is.

The 35-year-old superstar reached the historic feat on Saturday night, versus the Meralco Bolts at the Ynares Center in Antipolo City, making him the 14th player to achieve the record.

Needing just a point to formalize his entry to the 10,000-point club, Yap nailed a left corner triple with 49.3 seconds left in the third canto, which is also his first trey in the game.

The legendary Jerry Codiñera was the last cager to hit this milestone, which he did back in 2001.
