Pogoy chooses to stay mum after Game Two

Coming off a career game last Wednesday, Roger Pogoy was left dumbfounded and frustrated two days later

For 18 minutes and 58 seconds, the 25-year-old Cebuano was held scoreless, not seeing the same touches he had during his 27-point explosion. And with San Miguel making a huge run, leading 66-48 with 8:36 left in the third frame, Pogoy did not hide his frustration.

As fellow Far Eastern University alumnus Arwind Santos went for a rebound, Pogoy threw a shot against Santos that resulted in the latter shoving the rookie.

Replays showed that Pogoy had thrown an apparent low blow at the former league MVP, and he was ejected from the game. TNT eventually lost 88-102.

The Gilas cadet was one of the first players to leave the TNT dugout at around 9:43 in the evening, going out of the SMART-Araneta Coliseum with a member of the TNT brass.

Pogoy decided to stay mum even after numerous calls for an interview with members of the media. Even coach Nash Racela was not able to talk to his rookie about the incident.

“Wala, wala. Wala kaming pinag-usapan,” Racela said.

“Hindi ko nakita pero ang nakita ko pinwet ni Arwind si Roger kaya he reacted that way.”

“Siguro the best people to ask is the technical staff because they will have the benefit of the replay,” the first-year mentor furthered.

And as he walked down the parking lot of the venue, he will have a lot to ponder on entering Game Three on Sunday.
