TNT blasts Meralco, takes 2-0 lead in PBA semis

TNT cruised comfortably to the victory this time around as it dealt Meralco a 109-92 beatdown to construct a 2-0 lead in their PBA Season 50 Philippine Cup best-of-7 semifinal series, Wednesday night at the SMART Araneta Coliseum.

Unlike in Game 1 in which they had to rally from 21 down before escaping with the 100-95 decision, the Tropang 5G got into the flow early before breaking away in the third toward moving just two wins away from getting the job done.

Five players finished in twin digits in the wire-to-wire conquest, with Calvin Oftana starring anew with 26 points and seven rebounds.

Jordan Heading fired 24 points, including a four-pointer. Kelly Williams and Roger Pogoy produced 12 points apiece, with the 2008 league MVP earning all of his points from beyond the first arc with a 66.7-percent accuracy.

Brandon Ganuelas-Rosser chipped in 11 points and six rebounds as a total of 12 players scored at least two points for the traditional contenders.
