One shining moment
The University of San Carlos Warriors led the CESAFI team standings after the elimination round with a 9-1 slate. On October 17, 2014, they were at the brink of elimination.
The USC Warriors were underdogs compared to the SWU Cobras. With their season on the line, the Warriors bench broke the game in the 4th quarter as seen in this video:
The Warriors eventually lost game 5 to the SWU Cobras but it showed that this young team will be a force to be reckoned with next season.
Who’s in, who’s out
With the exception of fallen Warrior Ian Ortega, who fell to an ACL injury, the USC Warriors will bring in an intact line-up including former Blue Eagle Kiefer Lim and CESAFI Mythical Five member Victor Rabat.
Player to watch
Shooster Olago
Shooster Olago is described as a human pogo stick. During the CESAFI season, Olago averaged 15 points, 9.7 rebounds, 1 steal and 1 block per game. Olago may have been invisible during the final game of the series, scoring just 4 points, and was dominated by Landry Sanjo, who scored 20 points over the Olago and Espoir Toyambi, but Olago is the undisputed leader of this team. The Warriors will go where Olago takes them.
And here’s the dunk of Shooster Olago during the CESAFI’s slam dunk competition:
AAAHHHH!
Prediction
It’s going to be a tough road for the USC Warriors. They would have to beat the FEU Tamaraws, the SBC Red Lions, and the CESAFI champions in order to advance to the finals. Those three teams are just too much for the young team. However, they can at least chalk-up one win against the Green Lancers. The lessons and experience that will be gained by the Warriors in this tournament is priceless however.
