La Salle cruises to fourth win with sweep of Adamson

The De La Salle University Lady Spikers completely outclassed the Adamson University Lady Falcons 25-12, 25-16, 25-15 to notch their fourth win of UAAP Season 79 at the FilOil Flying V Centre.

The Lady Spikers faced slight resistance in the opening set but pounded Adamson on the block and serve to establish their lead. After taking a 16-9 lead, the Lady Spikers never let the Lady Falcons sniff the lead.

The stats sheet was a picture of the Lady Spikers’ dominance. La Salle limited Adamson to 14 attack points while converting 36 of their own. The defending champs also tallied six block kills and 11 service aces.

Season 78 Finals MVP Kianna Dy tallied a game-high 15 points off 10-for-15 attacking with two blocks and three aces. Second-year middle blocker Aduke Ogunsanya had her second consecutive 11-point outing built on seven-for-seven attacking with a block and three aces.

“So since natalo kami sa UP, nakita mo sa players na nagbago ‘yung outlook nila. Alam nilang hindi sila ‘yung naglaro against UP kaya talagang tinrabaho nilang maiangat ‘yung nilalaro namin,” said La Salle head coach Ramil De Jesus.

With their second win in a row, La Salle improves to a 4-1 record with their match on Sunday at the FilOil Flying V Centre against the listless UE Lady Warriors (0-5).

Skipper Jema Galanza was the only Lady Falcon able to generate a significant offensive contribution with seven points. Bernadette Flora added four markers.

Still winless in five matches, the Lady Falcons try to arrest their skid on Saturday also at the FilOil Flying V Centre against the struggling UST Golden Tigresses (1-3).
